Time for us all to regroup (quickly) for the 2025 Giants Week 6 preview, as the Eagles come to town on a short week.
Last Sunday, Week 5, was no bueno as the Giants squandered their momentum from the Chargers game and lost to the New Orleans Saints. In that defeat, the Saints scored the game’s last 23 points, and the Giants turned the ball over on five consecutive possessions. Sounds like a solid fundamental team with discipline, doesn’t it?
In any event, the task gets no easier now as Big Blue comes back for a Thursday Night game (if you don’t have Prime Video, you are probably SOL) against the Eagles. Philadelphia may be the defending champions, but are they a scary team?
2025 Giants Week 6 Preview: PHI at NYG
Kickoff is Thursday night at 8:20pm against the Eagles. Philadelphia is in first place in the NFC East (4-1), while the Giants are in last place (1-4).
The Eagles are coming off of their first loss of the season against Denver, a game in which they had a two-touchdown lead but the Broncos stunned them late. On the other end of the field, the Giants saw Jaxson Dart get his first career loss as a starting quarterback, and with his team minus-5 on the turnover battle, they had little chance to hold things together.
As of Tuesday night, Philadelphia was a 7.5-point road favorite against the Giants.
Series History
Even though the Eagles have played for championships and the Cowboys have not, the Giants’ losing streak situation is far less dire against Philadelphia. The Eagles have won the last two games, while the Giants last win was at home in 2023. New York is 3-11 against the Eagles in their last 14 meetings.
What If the Giants Lose?
Does the phrase “par for the course” mean anything to you?
The Eagles, generally speaking, are a good team, but a beatable one. A respectable football team might be able to do it. As for the Giants? They will need more than a little luck and magic to right the ship against this team. By the way, they are also playing the Eagles in Week 8 on the road, which will be one of the most difficult games they play all season.
