Coming in at number 10 on the CFB Top 50 countdown, we go to the SEC’s own 2025 Texas A&M Aggies, hailing from College Station.

All the 12s out there in Aggieland are hoping that this is the year that their team takes a leap into better things. They have been promised a lot by big-name coaches who have come through, but generally speaking, the results have not matched the expectations. Mike Elko took over the program last year, improving upon their win total from the prior season, but there is still much work to be done.

There are those out there who believe that something is in the works in College Station, and a big year is on its way.

IN – TJ Searcy, defensive end. Transferred from Florida.

IN – Mario Craver, wide receiver. Transferred from Mississippi State.

OUT – Shemar Stewart, defensive end. Drafted by Cincinnati in 1st round of 2025 Draft.

OUT – Nic Scourton, defensive end. Drafted by Carolina in 2nd round of 2025 Draft.

Best Game on the Schedule in 2025

November 28 at Texas. These two old rivals get together in what could be a very meaningful regular-season finale. This matchup was a staple of Thanksgiving weekends for many years, but we had gone 13 years without seeing it until last year, when Texas joined the SEC. This will be A&M’s first trip to Austin since 2010.

2025 Texas A&M Aggies: Outlook

Maybe Texas A&M will soar this season, maybe they won’t, but this website is taking a big bet on them. They have the resources necessary to make a run. First, they are in the SEC, which affords them the opportunity for a deep strength of schedule. Second, they have a strong offensive line, featuring all upperclassmen, which will be a big asset to them over the course of the season. Third, they have a solid option at quarterback in Marcel Reed, back for another season. So long as that offensive line holds together, they should afford him time to do his thing, which includes taking off on the ground himself. He took over mid-way through last season, and now we will see what he can do with a full year to run the offense.

Most of A&M’s defensive line was drafted in the spring, so they are filling in some new personnel. Two of them this season are transfers. However, A&M is also returning some talent, like Taurean York and Scooby Williams at linebacker. A&M’s defense took a recent blow, however, as Dalton Brooks, one of the team’s top tacklers from last season, was arrested this summer due to a hit-and-run incident. The school said that it would be “handled internally.” (Turner, 2025) We’ll find out later what that means, but expect him to play…until such time as he doesn’t.

In spite of all that, they do still return quite a few starters from last season. A&M will start slow before they start getting into the bigger games. It’s possible that the Aggies are another good year away from solid contention, but I looked at some of the other teams on this list, and we’re fine with where they are. Not like they’re going to stay exactly at 10th all season, one way or another.
