The 2025 MLB power rankings are here. Who’s the best, who’s the worst, and who occupies that big, meaty middle?
The rankings below will be updated throughout the 2025 regular season. Try not to take these too seriously. This is just a sports website, okay?
Before We Begin
All 30 teams are ranked below, in three tiers. The defending champions are the Los Angeles Dodgers.
These power rankings were last updated on June 13, 2025.
2025 MLB Power Rankings: Top 10
The New York Mets are once again at the top of the power rankings, thanks to a long winning streak that has pushed them to the best record in baseball. It’s a little early to be talking about a Subway Series II, but the Yankees are lurking in third once again. New York seems to be putting its stamp on this season as we near the half-way mark.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have dropped to their lowest ranking so far, fifth. Not only do they have the fifth-best record and the fifth-best run differential, but they are not particularly hot – 5-5 in their last ten games. With all those occurrences of the number “5,” it seemed only logical to slot them there. They are a good team, but not the Baseball Death Star that some predicted, at least not yet.
Toronto has moved into the Top Tier for the first time this season, playing their best ball of the year in the past week or two.
2025 MLB Power Rankings: Middle 10
Minnesota has dropped back into the Middle Tier, but only by one spot. However, moving into this grouping are the Red Sox and Angels, both of whom were in the red circle of Baseball Hell last week but have been doing a little better this week.
St. Louis is playing the worst out of this group, having lost five in a row.
2025 MLB Power Rankings: Bottom 10
Seattle has been a very strange team this season. They started the season horribly, got very hot and surged into first place, and now they have collapsed again. The M’s are 2-8 in June so far.
The further down you go, the worse they get, until you get to the Rocky Mountain Low, as it were. Somehow, this team swept the Marlins on the road, but they are back to their familiar ways.
