The 2025 Giants head into Week 5 no longer as a winless team, but will New Orleans provide them another victory?
Heading into the 2025 season, the conventional wisdom was that the Giants were going to struggle, but this game against the Saints would be an opportunity for a victory. Perhaps that wisdom was revised given that Big Blue won against the Chargers last weekend – a game few saw coming after the loss to Kansas City. However, Jaxson Dart and the Giants defense did enough to move the team to 1-3. After all, you’ve heard the phrase any given Sunday. No wins – or losses – can be assumed in the NFL.
Our latest preview breaks down the Giants’ quest to get to a second win. If they are victorious on Sunday in New Orleans, it would be the first time since 2023 that the team has won consecutive games.
2025 Giants Week 5 Preview: Giants vs. Saints
New York Giants
The Giants are 1-3 on the 2025 season so far. They won their first game in Week 4 against the Chargers.
New York’s last road win was, ironically, Week 5 of the 2024 season in Seattle. In further irony, the Giants moved to 2-3 with the win, but then lost 10 games in a row.
Jaxson Dart will make his second career start at quarterback, while WR Malik Nabers is out for the season (ACL).
New Orleans Saints
The Saints have started their season 0-4. Last week, they lost to the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park, 31-19.
New Orleans has not won any games in the regular season (0-4) or preseason (0-2-1) so far in this 2025 campaign. Because we love irony, their last win of any kind was in Week 14 of the 2024 season, at the Meadowlands against the Giants. Their last home win was in Week 11 of 2024.
Matchup
As noted, the Saints won the last meeting of these two teams in 2024. The Giants are 17-16 against the Saints in 33 prior meetings, per The Football Database. New York’s last win over New Orleans was in 2021.
