NY Giants Week 12 Preview vs. Lions

This is the New York Giants preview for Week 12 of the disastrous 2025 season, and there are still a few questions to be answered.

Even though this year has been another debacle, we need to know a few things. How many losses will the Giants pile up, and how high will they pick in the 2026 NFL Draft? Will Jaxson Dart be cleared to return after his concussion, or will Jameis Winston get the start? Is Joe Schoen soon to follow Brian Daboll out the door as the Giants clean house? By Sunday, we will know the answer to one of them, and by January, the other two.

On paper, this looks like another loss incoming. The Detroit Lions are coming off of a tough loss to the Eagles last week, one which knocked them out of the playoff picture. No doubt, they have circled this game on their calendars as one they need to win to get back on-track. If you were in their position, wouldn’t you? A Lions fan might think this is the easiest game they have left, and if they find a way to lose, they probably don’t belong in the playoffs, anyway.

As for the Giants, they are not angling for postseason glory. At least not this year.

Week 2 of the Kafka “Regime”

It’s difficult to even call this a regime that Mike Kafka has as an interim head coach. We are likely to see him and almost all of the coaching staff gone by February.

Do not expect anything new or exciting. It is the same coaching staff and team, just without its former head coach. Do not expect much to change in terms of the results, either. The Giants are what they are at this point.

Once again, they never should have let the outgoing regime get one more season. It looks like an even dumber decision now.

Just Don’t Get Hurt!

This is our mantra for the remainder of the 2025 season. Whether the Giants win or lose these games is of minor relevance. The most important thing is that none of the players suffer injuries in a lost season. If Jaxson Dart, he had better be at 100 percent, and not placed in harm’s way for any unnecessary reason.

The Giants have already lost too much in terms of key players this season, and there is no good that can come from losing more.
