In the 2025 Giants Week 9 preview, we want to know how the team moves on without Cam Skattebo.
Word is that Skattebo already had his surgery and that it went well. Furthermore, it sounds as though he is on track to return for the 2026 season. While that is good news indeed, if true, the fact remains: What the hell are the Giants going to do now in 2025? Can they do much of anything?
Aside from losing, which seems to be the thing they do most, not much, apparently. Skattebo and quarterback Jaxson Dart were a dynamic duo of rookies who also served as leaders on offense. Taking one of those two leaders out of the equation is not going to make things easy. You know, not that things were, anyway. They will just get more difficult.
This weekend, the Giants welcome San Francisco to East Rutherford, New Jersey. We will be back on Monday morning with a game reaction.
2025 Giants Week 9 Preview: Running Back Situation
Without Cam Skattebo, the Giants will no doubt turn to Tyrone Tracy as the primary back. Devin Singletary will be the backup to Tracy.
So far this season, Tracy has 45 carries for 159 yards. He has scored one touchdown. Tracy got 10 carries in the Philadelphia game for 39 yards. Through the air, he has caught 10 passes for 68 yards, with no touchdowns.
Singletary has seen limited action so far this year. He has gotten 28 touches for 84 yards on the ground, and has three catches for 28 yards. He does not yet have a touchdown this season. In the Philadelphia game, he got only two touches.
It will be on these guys to step up to the mark, but let’s be honest: Those are big shoes to fill. Skattebo offered a dynamic quality to the offense that appears to now be gone.
There is always the possibility the Giants will pull off a trade, but will they buy in a season when they are 2-6? It may not make sense.
