Week 4 Giants Postgame: 21-18 Win Over Chargers in Dart’s Debut

The Week 4 Giants postgame is a happy one in New York, because for once, the team actually won a game.

In a 21-18 final score from the Meadowlands, one which this website was happy to be able to say was attended by the head honcho, the New York Giants defeated the Los Angeles Chargers. The Giants have won their first game of the 2025 season, while the Chargers sustained their first defeat.

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart made his first start, and the crowd at the stadium was very responsive to him. A fanbase that has been beaten down for a long time wanted something about which to cheer, and finally, if even for one day, they got it.

Week 4 Giants Postgame: The Good and the Bad

As I write this sub-heading, I think about The Facts of Life theme song about taking the good and the bad together. Giants fans had to do that today. They got a much-needed win, but it came at a heavy cost. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers was injured on a deep ball with a suspected ACL injury, and his season is in doubt.

Otherwise, there were times when the Giants playcalling looked uninspired once again, and they struggled to cash in on some of their opportunities once the adrenaline from the first quarter wore off.

However, if you are looking for good things to take from the Chargers game, you can take a pick of a few things. The defense was a mixed bag, but it did enough to win a game. Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo look like they can be an exciting duo. Finally, the Giants took a lead and held it.

What’s Next for NYG?

The Giants head down to New Orleans for Week 5. The Saints have been one of the league’s worst teams in 2025 so far, but they have shown an ability to fight at times.

Be careful not to assume this is a win because of the Chargers upset. Even the worst teams in football manage to scratch out a few wins in a season. The Saints and their fans are no doubt thinking this is one of their most winnable games as well, results from this week aside.

However, it is important now to evaluate if the Giants can string wins together and develop momentum off of this win. A foundation is only relevant if you build something on top of it.
