College Football: CFB Week 4 Preview, 2025

In the CFB Week 4 preview, we can confidently tell you that the schedule is getting better – hello conference play!

Not every team out there in FBS this week is playing within their own conference; indeed, there are some ranked teams about to feast on lowly opposition this weekend. However, some of the power conferences are treating us to good games between interesting teams.

Would you care to know which ones we featured? The only way you can be sure is to watch the video.

CFB Week 4 Preview: Where We Stand

Entering this weekend’s action, which kicks off on Thursday night with a contest between Rice and Charlotte (yikes), we move into some better contests by the time we get to Saturday.

Ohio State enter Week 4 as the number one team in the nation, followed by fellow Big Ten rival Penn State. The highest-ranked SEC team as of today is LSU. Meanwhile, the ACC’s highest-ranked team is Miami. In the Big 12, your top-ranked school is Iowa State at number 12.

If you are looking for the top Group of Five school, you will not find one in the AP poll at all this week. The closest you will get is South Florida, who are two spots out of the rankings at 27th.

Notre Dame sits at number 24 in this week’s poll despite being 0-2. They are one of only a handful of schools to be ranked at any point despite that specific record.
