Things are not good for Big Blue, as the Giants Week 2 preview details. You didn’t need us to tell you that, however.
Last week, the Giants rode into their season opener against Washington with a sliver of optimism. They went 3-0 in the preseason, ostensibly upgraded their quarterback room, and signed or drafted new talent on both sides of the ball. The thinking was, after a disastrous 2024 season, the G-Men had nowhere to go but up.
Yet, they continued their seasons-long effluvial stench in their 2025 opener, falling flat in a 21-6 loss to the Commanders. Things looked ever the same as in 2024, with poor offensive line play, quarterbacks unable to work under pressure, the defense giving up preventable big plays, and special teams miscues galore. The only thing for which Giants fans can hope now is that divine providence smiles upon them, and their manifold problems are solved overnight.
In reality, it will not be this easy.
