Almost into the top 25, at number 28 on the CFB top 50 countdown, the 2025 Arkansas Razorbacks check in with us.
Arkansas may have just won seven games last season, but there is reason for some optimism in Fayetteville. In a conference such as the SEC, they will have a multitude of opportunities for signature wins. The Razorbacks did get a few last year, but there is more to be done in 2025 as they try to return to relevance. After all, they won a bowl game last season, and have won the last three in which they have participated, so why can’t this team take the next step? Aside from the mammoth teams in their way, that is.

Best Game on the Schedule in 2025
November 22 at Texas. This is an old rivalry going back well over a century. Texas was too much for Arkansas to handle last season, but will the Hogs be good enough to give the Horns a black eye in what could be a very important game? If they do, by the way, it would be in Austin.
2025 Arkansas Razorbacks: Outlook
Arkansas will have another year of Taylen Green at quarterback. He contributed through the air and on the ground, but Arkansas needs more if they are going to keep up in a hellish SEC. The touchdown-to-interception ratio last season was fine at 15 to 9, but you’d like to see the completions come up from 60 percent (even though this is historically where he has been throughout his career). Green is going to have a lot of new faces around him in hopes that they can rejuvenate the offense; O’Mega Blake and Raylen Sharpe are among the upperclassman transfers. Last year’s starting running back, Ja’Quinden Jackson, has moved on to the next level.
While the offense is going to have some shifting pieces, the defense is going to return its top tackler from last season, Xavian Sorey, and its third-leading tackler, Stephen Dix. Arkansas has still got to figure out how to be better against the pass; they had one of the least-effective pass rushes of FBS power-conference teams last season. With another year experience for some of these guys may come better results.
Arkansas may not contend to win the SEC, and in fact, they probably will not, but as mentioned earlier, a schedule this difficult is going to give them chances for big wins. Odds are that they will accumulate something in the way of quality and return to a bowl game. Being a decent SEC team is going to lift the Hogs in the eyes of many.
