Milwaukee 1, Philadelphia 2, Toronto 3, Chi Cubs 4, Detroit 5, LA Dodgers 6, Boston 7, NY Yankees 8, Seattle 9, San Diego 10
Milwaukee remains the best team in baseball, and they have been uncontested as such for weeks. Philly is closing in on them, but will they catch them for the National League’s top seed? It’s not impossible.
Most of the top ten was unchanged from last week. The sole new entrant was Seattle, who have been hot and caught Houston for the AL West lead.
2025 MLB Power Rankings: Middle 10
Houston 11, Texas 12, Cleveland 13, NY Mets 14, San Francisco 15, Cincinnati 16, Kansas City 17, Arizona 18, Tampa Bay 19, St. Louis 20
Houston, meanwhile, drops into the middle tier. Their story in this tier is not the saddest, as that dishonor belongs to the Mets. New York’s NL team has lost six games in a row, and turned a once-assured playoff spot into a struggle for survival. San Francisco is not that good, but they and Cincinnati, another not-great team, have a legitimate chance of making the postseason.
2025 MLB Power Rankings: Bottom 10
Baltimore 21, LA Angels 22, Miami 23, Athletics 24, Atlanta 25, Pittsburgh 26, Minnesota 27, Washington 28, Chi White Sox 29, Colorado 30
Baltimore wins the “ruling in Hell” award this week, jumping up to 21st place on the back of a good week. Their season is long-since over, but they will at least attempt to finish strong.
As for the bottom, Colorado will avoid the ignominy of setting an all-time record for losses. The bad news for them is that they could very easily lose 115 games by the time this is over, which is by all accounts a horrible season.
