2019 NCAA Hockey Tournament Bracket: The Road to Buffalo

Buffalo is the goal.

The 2019 NCAA Hockey Tournament bracket will be a path to victory for only one out of sixteen teams.

As for the other fifteen, their hopes of a 2019 national championship in Division I men’s hockey will end in Fargo, Manchester, Providence, Allentown, or Buffalo. This not kindergarten soccer; not everyone is a winner and there are no participation ribbons.

To find out who will skate their way to the 2019 Frozen Four in Buffalo, New York, four teams will first emerge from their respective regions.

2019 NCAA Hockey Tournament Bracket Notes

How does the number four seed Providence end up with a virtual home game against the third-best team in the country? This is quite unfair to Minnesota State, but that’s just me.

The number one seeds are exactly where I would have put them based on the results of Championship Saturday.

St. Cloud State has a doable first game, but no easy way out of Fargo. Denver particularly would be a difficult matchup for them; though the Huskies won both prior meetings, both were 4-3 home wins despite massive a shot disparity in favor of Saint Cloud State.

Minnesota Duluth may have the path of least resistance to the Frozen Four, as these things go.
