2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: The Closing Argument

Clashes of titans.

2018 College Football Week 10 featured some of the biggest games of the season we have seen so far. Opinions have been formed.

Just for coming here after such titanic games as Alabama vs. LSU, you get our opinions for free. Now if that ain’t great service, I don’t know what is. For your reading pleasure, this week, we will use the “quick hitter” format and get in as many games as possible. When a week of collee football is this action-packed, we can’t focus on just a few games.

You want to know one big takeaway from all of these contests, and because we’re not drooling morons, we can do that. Whether or not you agree is up to you; we can’t control your feelings.

For some insights on prior weeks, you can see last week (Week 9) and the one before that (Week 8).

2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: Non-Saturday Games

#12 UCF 52, Temple 40. UCF should be happy with what they have, as they are 8-0 and on track to win the American again. They would not be able to hack it with the big boys like Alabama and Clemson based off of this performance, but then again, nobody thought Boise State would beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

Pittsburgh 23, #25 Virginia 13. No team in the ACC Coastal seems to have any strong desire to win it. Get ready for a November free-for-all for the right to get smoked in the ACC Championship by Clemson.

2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: The Early Games

#10 Ohio State 36, Nebraska 31. Ohio State had this long to get ready and this was their best effort against Nebraska? At least they won, and they play on for a bigger cause.

#2 Clemson 77, Louisville 16. Clemson is much better than Louisville, but that’s not even the point. Bobby Petrino should be fired immediately; Louisville has Q-U-I-T.

Auburn 28, #20 Texas A&M 24. It’s not all a lost cause for Auburn this year. They’re just not as good as people hoped they would be.

2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: The Mid-Afternoon Games

#6 Georgia 34, #9 Kentucky 17. Georgia is thinking return trip to the playoff. Now, Kentucky is thinking just getting to a good bowl – which, by the way, is a massive improvement over the norm.

#13 West Virginia 42, #17 Texas 41. Big onions, baby. Big-time onions by the Mountaineers.

#5 Michigan 42, #14 Penn State 7. Michigan is the real deal. Penn State is not. The science is settled (this season).

#22 Boston College 31, Virginia Tech 21. Lane Stadium went silent again. BC now hosts Clemson in their biggest game in 10 years.

Purdue 38, #16 Iowa 36. The Boilermakers strike again and take out another ranked opponent. Could Purdue make the Big Ten title game?

2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: The Late Games

#1 Alabama 29, #3 LSU 0. You expected something different?

#4 Notre Dame 31, Northwestern 21. Notre Dame won’t be challenged many more times in the regular season.

Stanford, Washington. The Huskies got back in the rankings and all but put Stanford away this season, but you can be sure this still isn’t the season they wanted.

#8 Washington State, California. They don’t all have to look pretty.

2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: The Big Winner

Big shock: it’s Alabama. Death Valley, prime time, top-three matchup and they manhandled LSU.

2018 College Football Week 10 Scores: The Big Loser

We hereby declare the big loser of the week to be Penn State. Would have said Louisville if they were in any way relevant. The Nittany Lions are officially out of the national conversation.
