2017 Roland Garros Women’s Draw

2017 Roland Garros French Open Womens Singles 6-3-2017

It’s an adjustment scanning the draw without seeing Serena Williams. This tournament couldn’t prove to be more wide open, especially with Angelique Kerber losing in the first round.

Serena’s sister, Venus, is keeping the family afloat by making it into the third round. If she makes the quarterfinals, her likely opponent is Garbiñe Muguruza, last year’s champion and a strong clay competitor. Venus is 3-1 against her, but both have to get out of the fourth round.

Aga Radwańska lost in the third round to France’s native daughter Alizé Cornet. Meanwhile, Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, and Australia’s Sam Stosur are all through to round four. Wozniacki draws Svetlana Kuznetsova, against whom she has won seven of 13 matches. They have never before met on clay.
