2017 NFL Mock Draft, Volume 3: Almost Showtime
Making our final first-round picks.
The 2017 NFL Draft begins tomorrow night, meaning our 2017 NFL Mock Draft makes its concluding appearance.
Among the major questions remaining are: What do the Cleveland Browns do with two picks? Is Myles Garrett still the number one pick? Which quarterback comes off the board first?
Tomorrow, we will have real answers to the above interrogatives. Until then, however, the mental mastur– er, gymnastics continue. One thing we know for certain is that Roger Goodell will be booed mercilessly and while he won’t show it, a little piece of him will die inside.
Since I don’t see Mel Kiper or his delightful coiffure around here, we just give you the first round.
2017 NFL Mock Draft: 1 thru 8
1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett (DE, Texas A&M)
Sticking with it. Yet, never underestimate the ability of the Browns to screw up the pick.
2. San Francisco 49ers: Solomon Thomas (DE, Stanford)
Also considered someone like Trubisky or Fournette, but we’ll stay with the “local” product.
3. Chicago Bears: Jamal Adams (S, LSU)
Defense seems on tap for Chicago. We stick with Adams but don’t be surprised to see someone like Marshon Lattimore.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette (RB, LSU)
LSU goes back-to-back early in the draft.
5. Tennessee Titans: Marshon Lattimore (CB, Ohio State)
Tennessee is going to try to beef up the pass defense.
6. New York Jets: Mitchell Trubisky (QB, North Carolina)
I hope Trubisky likes green, as in both the Jets and money.
7. Los Angeles Chargers: Malik Hooker (S, Ohio State)
The Chargers need help at safety.
8. Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey (RB, Stanford)
His mailing in the bowl game seems like a long time ago now.
