Bowl Picks: 2016 Bahamas Bowl
[lead align=”default”]You could do a lot worse than being in The Bahamas in December. You could also do worse than being the two teams in the 2016 Bahamas Bowl.[/lead]
In this game, it’s two programs with a combined one prior bowl invitation at this level. That belongs to Eastern Michigan, who last got to a bowl game in the 80s. Old Dominion only joined FBS a few years ago and was ineligible their first year. So, in just two years of being a potential bowl team, they not only have their first bowl appearance, they could have a 10-win season. That’s some program the Monarchs are building down there.
This is not take anything away from the Eagles. Eastern Michigan is a team overshadowed because they have five losses and played in Western Michigan’s division. Here’s why they shouldn’t be: they were 1-11 last year. That we’re talking about the Eagles in their bowl game is a remarkable achievement, and one of 2016’s best turnarounds. It was also their best season since Bush 41’s first year.

2016 Bahamas Bowl: The Edge
The difference maker in this game might well be ODU quarterback David Washington, with his 28 to 4 touchdown to interception ratio. Eastern Michigan has the 112th pass defense in FBS. Even though ODU doesn’t tally a lot of yards, they should be able to move the ball on the Eagles.
