NFL Projections: The Week 11 NFL Playoff Machine

[lead align=”default”]With less than half the season to go, you want to know who makes the playoffs. Time to fire up the Week 11 NFL Playoff Machine.[/lead]

Six or seven games to go for most teams in the National Football League, and every down is critical. One win or loss could mean a lost tiebreaker and a lost season. In fact, if it gets down that far, every touchdown might matter if we hit the “strength of victory” tiebreaker.

We plug some winners and losers into the theoretical Playoff Machine and figure out who’s in and out. Also, we determine if a team that wins is winning enough to get there, or if some comparatively average teams might sneak into the field.

Week 11 NFL Playoff Machine: A Scenario

Assume for a moment that the Week 11 through 17 games go like this:

Week 11 NFL Playoff Machine potential outcomes

Sure, there are a few games in here that seem like upsets. For example, Cleveland beating Cincinnati, but even the worst teams find at least one win each year. Well, except Detroit a couple years back. Also, San Diego over Kansas City in Week 17 would be an upset, but the Chargers are home and these teams know each other so well, it’s not impossible.

Think of it this way: Even if some of the individual games are wrong, this is a plausible scenario of how the final seven weeks will go in terms of record.
