2018 Central Division Semifinals: Nashville Predators vs. Colorado Avalanche

The series capsule for the Western Conference’s 2018 Central Division Semifinals, this one involving the Nashville Predators vs. the Colorado Avalanche. Nashville are the Central Division champions and the President’s Trophy winners for the 2017-18 season. Colorado is the West’s second wild card, making the playoffs for the first time since 2013-14.

NHL NSH-COL Game 3 2018

Colorado made this a series by taking Game 3 at home. This was never much of a game, with the Avalanche jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period. Nathan MacKinnon scored two.

NHL NSH-COL Game 2 2018

The Presidents’ Trophy winner is looking like one so far. Game 2 was close at the end thanks to a last-minute goal by the Avs, but it was yet another game where the Preds were the best team on the ice.

NHL NSH-COL Game 1 2018

Colorado hung in there with the Preds for a little while, but the third period was all Nashville as they posted a 5-2 Game 1 victory. Filip Forsberg had two goals in the final period, and Pekka Rinne saved 27 in the win.
