Week 13: Ohio State Buckeyes
The Bucks may have punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff by beating Michigan.
Week 12: Houston Cougars
The Cougars had to wait a while, but they got their second signature win of the season this week.
Week 11: USC Trojans
USC didn’t just beat Washington, they smoked them at Husky Stadium. It may be too late for the Trojans to make a playoff push, but it was an impressive win that shook up the playoff.
Week 10: Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama took one of the best swings they’ve received so far and shut out their top 15 opponent on the road.
Week 9: Clemson Tigers
The Tigers went down to Doak, in a very hostile environment, and took out the Seminoles. This puts them in great position in the ACC and the College Football Playoff picture.
Week 8: Penn State Nittany Lions
Penn State came from behind to stun the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes for their best win in ages.
Week 7: Alabama Crimson Tide
It’s not even surprising anymore when they go into an opposing stadium and obliterate a ranked team. That’s Alabama for ya.

2016 FBS College Football Teams of the Week, Weeks 1-6

Week 6: Navy Midshipmen
Beating a top ten team for the first time in forever and potentially getting yourselves ranked makes for a good week.
Week 5: Clemson Tigers
Our national team of the week took a big, big step forward by staring down a huge Louisville rally in the second half and finding a way to win. We’d been waiting for Clemson to make a statement, and they did.
Week 4: Wisconsin Badgers
You might have believed they’d win in East Lansing, but they put the hurt on Michigan State. Now they’re a top ten team, and the national team of the week.
Week 3: Louisville Cardinals
When you annihilate the number two team in the country in your own building, you deserve to be the national team of the week. Louisville did, so they are.
Week 2: Arkansas Razorbacks
A week after looking pedestrian against Louisiana Tech, here come the Hogs, beating TCU in double overtime in the Frogs’ pad. They will likely get a national ranking out of it.
Week 1: Texas Longhorns
What a thrilling victory the Horns scored over Notre Dame to get them back into the national rankings. Charlie Strong’s hard work is starting to pay off in Austin.
