5 Worst NFL Teams: Los Angeles Rams, #4

2016 Record: 4-12
Home and Away: 1-7 and 3-5
Point Differential: -170

Why They Sucked: This was probably the worst offensive team in the NFL, and if not, it was in the top two or three. Sliding from Case Keenum to Jared Goff was a move to prepare Goff for the future, but the growing pains were evident.

Their team passer rating was 69.5, second from the bottom, and they had a league-low 14 touchdown passes all season. The run game stunk as well, averaging only 78 yards per game, also second from the bottom. Their longest rush from scrimmage in 2016 was 30 yards. A large part of this was the Los Angeles offensive line, which had a terrible season. It also helped contribute to Todd Gurley not having a 100-yard game all season.

Reasons For Hope?: A new regime will take over soon, and it could be led by Sean Payton. He’s going to need a lot of help, but he’s won before, and can win again with the right players.
